Away from writing, Poker is a second love, some may say obsession. There are many who do not understand it, and class it as degenerative gambling, but it's not. And this is not just about Poker, it's an eloquent read about life (poker just seems to be part of it), it's funny and life affirming. Victoria Coren has a blog (you can link to it on the links list) and also is a successful broadsheet columnist. It's well worth a read, whether you like poker or not.

The Behaviour of Moths
Deubt novels are always interesting, you don't know how autobiographical they really are. This one from Poppy Adams, focuses on the relationship of two sisters, effortlessly switching from childhood to later life, where the narrator has become a recluse. Dark childhood secrets come to a conclusion over a four day period.
It's written very well, but tends to drag when the book goes a little scientific (about Moths though you will learn lots) and unfortunately fizzles out towards the end after an unlikely conclusion, but there is lots to like here and is a promising, sparkling debut.
